Yes folks one of the downfalls/benefits of doing what I do is that no company in their right mind would hire me. I was talking to a friend over the weekend and he was telling me about some of the office politics that he has to deal with.

It is funny. It does not seem to matter how bad the new idea your boss has actually is. Your job is to make it seem like it is working. I would last about a day and a half before I had to say… “ That is just stupid” . The problem is that you are not allowed to point out what is stupid anymore. Pointing out stupidity is now insensitive. You have to SPARE their feelings so that they can think up some other stupid idea.

Another example. A couple of days ago someone messaged me telling me that they wanted to make NLP work for them. Some of you may know I used to really like NLP. It sounded so good on paper but for me it never really flew for me. I told this guy this and he told me that he had seen the 3D Mind DVD and has gotten that to work. His GOAL was to make enough changes using the 3D Mind so that he could get NLP to work for him…….Sometimes these things make my brain hurt.

I think the problem is that many people make their decisions based on one thing…how they FEEL about the idea. While this is a powerful persuasion concept it is a stupid why to run your life. Every day I see so many people with so much potential just wasting away. They have good ideas that never get acted on. They have dreams that never come true. They want relationships that they never pursue.

They let their feelings hold them back rather than fuel them forward. The only difference between them and a lump of mud is that the mud doesn’t complain so much.

Stupid is the most contagious disease out there. The bad news is that there is no vaccine! Stupid just grows out of control until it becomes a way of life. The norm is now to react emotionally then make a decision that feel good. That is stupid.

Last night I was scrolling through the channels and I saw that there were several 2012 end of the world programs on. I had to take a look. I know that this is all drama base crap but I wanted to see how people were going to explain to me that a bunch of primitive people predicted the end of the world while at the same time sacrificing people because their pierced penis told them to while they were high on drugs.

It was stupid.

If I were the guy interviewing them I would have to ask “ Well Dr. X, has it occurred to you that you are just stupid and that your theory is crap?” Well hell no. You are not allowed to ask that. It might make them feel bad!

There were people building bomb shelters in old missile silos preparing for the end. Most likely they still had some stuff left over from the year 2000 when the world was supposed to end. It is in a pile of surgical masks that they are saving from the H1N1 virus that is going to kill all of us although……the regular flu is much more dangerous.

God forbid I ran a business where one of these guys worked. “ Well Frank it seems I am going to have to let you go”. “ Why mister Vizzini, what did I do?” he would ask. “Well Frank it seem that you are stupid. When you applied for this job you did not fill out the place on your employment application where I expressly  ask if you are stupid.”

“ What have I done?” he would inquire.

“ Well, I can put up with a lot. I didn’t mind that your work was late. I didn’t mind that you screw up a bit. When you show up to work  with a surgical mask on and an end is near bumper sticker I know that you are not only not working well but….are too stupid to ever improve. In short….idiot was not one of the skills I wanted for your position.”

The real problem is that stupid people don’t know they are stupid. They think they are smart. You are not allowed to tell them they are not smart. Because that is bad. So you have to live with stupid people all around you and bite your tongue.

Now we have come to that time on our evolution where stupid is now being rewarded! Make bad decisions? Piss all your money away by refinancing all the equity out of your house while filling it with home shopping network jewelry? Get drunk and smash you car? Eat too much? Smoke too much?…..someone out there feels sorry for you. BTW …That someone is not me 🙂

Tons of well meaning therapist out there will tell you that it was all about your terrible childhood. Maybe it is PTSD. If it is neither of those it MUST be ADHD!

OR…..you might just be stupid!

Stupid is not fatal. It it not even incurable. It is NOT treatable if no one is allowed to tell you that you have it!

If you really want to worry about a pandemic or the end of the world it is much more likely to be cause by stupidity. The end of the world will not come from a meteor. It will not come from a flu. It will not come global warming. It will not come from the Mayan calendar running out.

The end of the world will come from stupid.

Save the world…..point out the stupid.
