Isn’t that getting a bit frustrating?
What are you going to do about it?
Aren’t you tired of flying blind?
I was telling a friend of mine a while back that the reason he does not get ahead in business is that he does not build relationships with the people he works with. He does not think about how the skills of influence affect his success.
He told me, “Tom, you just don’t understand working in a corporation. Things are difference there.”
It is as if he thinks people stop being people when they get to work in the morning. The rules of connection and influence stop working and the biology of their brains no longer functions. On the most basic level people always are reacting in a social way. The brain is coded for that. It is unchangeable.
Yet some people still think all they have to do is a good job and they will get promoted.
Some people think that they can bully their way into getting what they want.
Some people think they can fool or trick people into getting what they want.
None of these work in the long term. You can work your ass off for years and get nothing from it. You can push and fool people ONCE. After that they will find someone else.
It is the person who builds the best relationships that has the most success. Unless you are the ONLY OPTION… the person with social and relationship skills will do better and any job.
Let’s keep in simple. You go to a restaurant and have a server who jokes with you, talks with you, calls you by name and is friendly. On the other hand you have a server who does just as good a job. They check on you, get your food and make sure you are taken of just the same as the first server.
The next time you are there who do you want serving you? Who are you going to give the bigger tip to? Who are you going to remember?
Think about your customers, friends and the other people you will meet today. Are you the person who builds a relationship with them or are you the person who is just doing what they are supposed to do?
This is why we work so much on relationship building at our Total Life Transformation Retreats. Relationships are at the core of every successful person. It does not matter if you are looking for social success, dating success or business success, relationships are the key to opening all the doors that seem locked to you.
The next TLTR is this September. If you want to get the life you want then be there!
