I received an interesting question today:

“Tom, 3D Modeling sounds interesting to me but I am not sure how I would use
it in every day life. Could you help me see the value? How is it different
than other methods of modeling?”

Those are great questions. I am going to be answering them this Thursday in
a free special live video preview of 3D Modeling.  More on that in a minute.

Let me answer one of those 2 questions first. What is the value of modeling?
I have been pretty lucky in life to have met some amazing people. When I do
I want to be able to get as much information from them about what they do as
I can.

Look folks let me tell you something. If you don’t know what you boss wants
in order to give you a promotion then you are in trouble. If you don’t know
what your girlfriend needs in order to be happy you are in trouble…real
trouble 🙂 If you don’t know what your customers want you out of business.
These are all important uses of MODELING. To solve any problem you have to
understand how the problem is happening. That is MODELING.

This is the most important skill you can possibly learn. It is the key to
rapid success in anything. If I go to a seminar I want to model those who
are good at what I want to learn. I also want to model those who suck so I
can avoid their mistakes.

IMPORTANT POINT HERE:  If you wait to learn this skill when you meet amazing
people you will not know how to extract the useful secrets that they do not
even know they have! It will be too late and they will be gone.

I was in Wales staying and an OLD farm house. While we were there a guy came
to fix part of the slate roof. This owner of the farmhouse knew this guy his
whole life. So I started asking this repairman a few questions and by the
time I was done I knew everything he did about fixing slate roofs. I also
knew a lot more about him personally. After the repairman left the owner of
the farmhouse came up to me. Here is what he said “ I have known that guy my
whole life and never learned as much about him as you have in 15 minutes.”

That is the power of 3D Modeling.

I know most of you have heard about modeling and if you are like me, not
much of it made any sense at all. Some of these guys would tell you how they
modeled this guy or that BUT….they never told you how they did it. When
they did give any information it was overly complicated JUNK!
