OK so I just got done responding to a post from a friend of mine. He posted it on Steve’s blog at http://steve.howtochangeyourlife.com

Steve wrote a post about social anxiety and how the 3D Mind changed his life. Since Steve had so much success he wanted to start his own business helping others overcome this problem.

So I read this post and I have to say that the guy who wrote it is VERY well educated in hypnosis and NLP. He has more diplomas that I have walls so hang them on.

The problem is that he is stuck. There are some hypnotherapists that are so indoctrinated into their way of thinking that all they see is hypnosis. Farting is a hypnotic event. Every utterance is NLP to a NLP devotee. The more they learn the more they can see little else other than what they already believe in.

I know there are many of you out there with open minds. You are not emotionally invested in any belief about what you have learned. There are those others though……

My perspective is a bit unique I know. I have studied all these other things and know the differences. I also know when something is not working. That is an important skill to have. If you do not recognize when something is not working then you always think it is working. If you have any doubt all you have to do is look at your wall of diplomas.

The skill of knowing what is not working LEADS you into directions of finding things that actually do work.

This is one of the things that we are going to cover in this weekends Gold Members Seminar. It is going to be on the skill we call Learning Loops of Success. Kim and I have modeled many successful people and have discovered some great stuff that will help you learn and USE the skills you are here to get. We look into the difference between those who are able to use the skills quickly and those who never take them off of the shelf.

You can be there if you want to. Just join our Gold Members area for only 20 dollars a month. It is the best training you will never have to leave home for!

Have fun

Tom

  1. Hi there, I have just found your site while searching on the Internet as I am looking for some info on hypnotherapy and pain management. It’s a good blog so I bookmarked this site and I will revisit you another day to have a more detailed look when I have more time.

  2. Tom, Most people are unaware of language, the importance and power of languaging and patterning. Everybody at any given time is running on a tank of subconscious gasoline only until the pattern is interupted then back to autopilot again.

In my experience the only way to tell if I am being influenced is to listen to my feelings not my conscious thoughts, I get a sense of something happening when I feel it.

I love this site and what you are doing in bringing about an awareness of sneaky stuff, and I hope people out there are ethical in influencing others.

  3. Some times I think this about myself, I am quite young, and know (of the existence) of NLP and related influence/persuasion stuff etc. and find myself always looking for things like embedded commands/suggestions inside of pretty much any thing.. like if people are talking to me, or I am listening to some type of audio course (not on the topic of learning nlp, etc. even then it is still used to teach itself, etc.) I think that I am unable to benefit/learn from this course because I am constantly seeking out the methods they are using to teach.. it’s like I’m smart, but smart in a way that makes me unable to take in more/learn more because I know what the methods they are using to teach.. I must let go of this bad habbit, it’s like I an a polarity responder to any thing I think is using NLP/persuasion.. :/

    1. The problem is simple…….you have bee fooled by those selling snake oil. No one can teach you by using embedded commands or unconscious installation. Now you are looking for what you want to see and it is distracting you. What I see is this. You believe you are smart. It might be true. The problem is that you believe that you would be stupid if you fell for embedded commands and such. That tells me you are not really certain that you are all that smart. So you seek to prove it by being able to resist these mythical magic skills.

Do yourself a big favor….be smart enough to be stupid,

  4. LOL Brilliant!

I was watching an NLP guy talking at a marketing meeting and he was telling another guy how he had been using anchoring and presuppositions. Of course he was – it’s what really successful people do. It isn’t something they learn, it what they do naturally.

*I* don’t think you are teaching this Tom, I think you help people discover where it is, which is much better.
