Ok I noticed one constant thing missing from all of your assets.
I don't think anyone listed other people among any of their assets.
I want you to take some time and think about what external assets you have. They are the things that support you and multiply your personal assets.
Now here is your task.
In front of you is an empty box in an empty room. There is one of 2 things in the box.
The first think will make you feel very good.
The second thing will cause pain.
Your only way to discover which one is in the box is to ask three questions. The only limitation is that you cannot ask which one of the 2 there is.
What are your three questions?
Tom

you said empty box is that the trick to this?
anyways here are 3 questions,
What is the thing that causes pain? What specifically is it?
What is the thing that causes me to feel good? What specifically is it?
Lets say it is an apple that causes me to fel good, I will say is this thing in the box a thing that has a company with the same name that sells Ipods, or is it used in the sentence An apple a day keeps the doctor away.
Than I find out what it is.

Well the first thing that comes to mind is:
"How much would it hurt?" 'cause if it wasn't THAT bad I might just open the box so I wouldn't have to stand there in uncertainty. Not to mention there's still a part of me that doesn't like to be jacked around, so I'd just bust on through and do it. Good ol' control.
My next question would be "What's the good thing?" I want to know if it's worth playing the game.
I would only ask a 3rd question if the answer to number one was "Really, really bad." That question would be "Will it kill or permanently damage me?"
So, assuming this is a self insight-type puzzle, those are my answers.
Now, if it was just a riddle, I'd ask "What's the thing that will make me feel good?" and "What's the thing that will cause me pain?" and "Is the thing that will cause me pain inside this room?"
Do I win?

Ok now I get it,
How much pleasure do I get?
How much pain do I get?
What will happen if I go for that box in front of me?
Perhaps?

first those multipliers
1. The internet lists I'm in and the vast internet!!!. Incredible how this go unnoticed. in the previous internet time I have very few places where to ask for advice. Now ther are thousands of people who can provide almost instant advice. around the world (not only think in essential Skill list, but also all those forums, there is one for everythin virtually). This is a greeeeaaaattttt asset and a multiplier asset!!
2. Former coworkers and former classmates. They already know my performance level, trust me and we have a common brackground. That can be very useful in some situations.
3. My place of birth. Now that I live in other state, that gives me some kind of social proof, because we "veracruzanian" are suppose to be cheerful and easygoing people. So when they found out where I am, they tend to think I'll be a good friend (sometimes I make a poijt in telling LOL).
4. Places I've been, people I've met. Sometimes mention where I've bee gives more credibility to what I said, of course it depends on the subject, and also, having met more diverse people makes me more open and tolerant
5. My limiting beliefs!!!. If it wasn't for them, I've never have look for personal improving methods, and never found out all this greeeeeaattt places.
So, for the riddle.
I'm in a empty room, in front of a empty box. I'll discover what's in it asking without :
1. Would my mother wish I have it?
2. Would I wish to have it?
3. Would it hurt some other pleople if I have it?
I'll be totally happy to have it if answer was yes to frist two questions. If 3 was it yes, I still might, but I don't know if I would, it depends.

Nifty question Tom. You known, any project is an box with unknown contents. It is how we percieve the unknown contents in how we approach it. I think it has gold, and I jump on top of it. I think it has pain, and I run away.
Do I consider it beneficial or pleasurable?
How quickly will the benefits or pleasure pay off?
How much do I value the benefits or pleasure, or alternatively, what is the cost/benefit ration?

1) What do I really want? i.e.: Do I want the thing that will make me feel good?
2) Does the reward of obtaining the good feeling, outweigh the risk of getting some pain instead?
3) If I get the pain, how can I best deal with it so I can re-focus on the next thing that will make me feel really good?
I just realized that my previous questions don't answer your original question about what is in the box. Instead they only evaluate my response to what may be in the box.
So, going back to the original premise that there are no limitations, I'll ask the other person in the room
1) Does the thing in the box make you feel very good, or cause you pain?
2) Will the thing in the box cause me to feel the same way you do?
3) ???

Umm, I think that I did mention my sibling and some very good friends ... I'd add to that my dance-relationships give me enormous pleasure and enrich my appreciation and enjoyment of life.
Other external assets ? Things that occur are counsel of friends, availability of huge reference material in libraries and the internet - though I tend to fight a little shy of some of the "advice" dispensed in some forums ... not ES of course ;-
Will think about others as we continue ...

But you just said it was an empty box !

OK, this smacks of a mind game and I tend to think, "Why would I want to look in your box anyway ?". But I'll play along
I'd say this:
1. Is the box empty ?
2. If not, will opening it give me something that will allow me to move closer to my goals, even though it may prove painful initially ?
3. If not, will opening it give me something that will take me away from my goals, even though it may bring me great pleasure initially ?

Family
Friends - Hey, I listed them before!
Live in a vibrant city
Dog
Seminars/workshops
CD's, books
Internet
Message boards
Sources of entertainment clubs, art exhibits etc.
Nature - lakes, canyons, hot springs, mountains
Three Questions:
Will it make me healthy and fit?
Will it make me lots of money?
Will it get bring me lots of beautiful women?
If it does any of those three things I don't care if it makes me feel good or brings me pain.
The reward will be worth it and will make me feel good anyway.

What is it about this empty box that can make me happy?
Does this empty box make me feel discouraged or disappointed?
How can we apply the analogy of the empty box to our life?
